Should the EAD be renewed even if we never used it???

My EAD expires on 01/10/03 and I am still waiting for my approval.
I am on H-1 when I applied for 485 and still H-1 only. Do I need to renew my EAD (even if I never used it) or is it a requirement that we always have a valid EAD????

It is not a requirement to have an EAD while you are on valid H1. If you are on H1 visa status then there is no need to have EAD. But in this uncertain world and economy be safe than sorry. You may need EAD to change jobs after 180 days. If you want to use it in future, please renew your EAD. I hope that you got answer for your question.

Yeah, renew your EAD even if you're currently working on your H1. I'm telling you from my personal experience, when it comes to immigration matters do not refrain from putting in some extra effort, time and money. You'll see that it'll all be worth it in this uncertain world.
