Should One get a US Marriage documents

Hi All,
We got married in our home country and our GC got approved .., my spouse's through me. I am just wondering if we should register somewhere in this country that we are legally married, since only CIS/INS knows that we are married.
Comapre with a couple who got married in USA, we the state or local goverment does not know that we are married.

The state or local government does not need to know everything about you. If there's something that requires you to prove your marriage, keep your marriage certificate from your home country.

The only agency that has ever asked me for my marriage certificate was UCSIS.
