Should N-400 be filed jointly with spouse?

Hi. I am just starting the citizenship process and this forum has been fantastic. I have a novice question about my N-400 application:

Should I send my application and my wife's application in the same envelope with two checks or do they have to be sent separately?

you can send both in the same envelope with 2 checks.
