Hello:
I had my First H1B visa until Jun 1999 from Company A. Company A extended the visa for the next 3 years until Jun 2002. My Wife had her H4 visa extended as well until Jun 2002. In the mean time I joined company B on July 2000. During May 1999, My new company (company B) applied for my H1B transfer and got the transfer of my H1b. They didn\'t transfer my Wife\'s H4.

In this case since my wife is dependant on me does her H4 visa get automatically transfer (without applying for a H4 transfer as well) ?

OR I should apply for a h4 transfer ?

Both my wife and me have stamped the VISA and the expiry date says Jun 2002.

I have applied for GC. I want to make sure that my wife was under legal status through out our stay.

TIA

H-4s are not employer specific, but

Be careful of the I-94 expiration date. If her I-94 expires, she has problems. Don\'t let that happen and it\'s quite possible to miss it since her I-94 does not expire at the same time yours does.
