Hi,

I need to travel out of US about 10-12 days after my oath ceremony next month?.

Which of the following is my best option?.

1. Hand over the Passport application and certificate of Naturalization after my Oath ceremony for rush processing.

2. Take an appointment at State Dept - Passport Agency for expedite processing.

3. Travel with Indian passport and enter with certificate of Naturalization?.

Your experience and opinion would be a big help.

Thanks

Hi,
You cannot pull this one off in most circumstances. Only when travelling between the US and Canada/Mexico/Carribean, and very soon that will change too.
It is actually worse for you since you hold an Indian passport. The moment you naturalise, you can no longer travel on your Indian passport. This is not a DHS issue, but this is mandated by the government of India. My knowledge is based on what I have heard from many of my Indian friends who naturalised in the US or Canada.

If you live in a city with a passport agency, that's the fastest way. Expedited processing through the mail (with Express Mail) *might* make it in time.
