I am so glad to find this forum with so many people ready to share your valuable experience.
I have a situation that needs your advise.

I arrived the state in 2002 as an F-1 student. My Asylum application was approved late 2003 and I submitted I-485 myself in Nov 2004. In my application package, I included the copy of passport, I-94 which was issued upon approval of asylum, and all asylum related doc. When I recently talked to my friend, he said I also need to submit the copy of my original visa and I-94 when I first landed the states. The immigration officer needs the doc to establish my non-immigration status in order to approve asylum based I-485.

My question is, is it sure that I need to submit my original visa and I-94 ?
If yes, should I voluntarily send them the doc, or should I just wait NSC to send me RFE.
I would assume that I will save some processing time if I send to them instead of waiting RFE, but I am not sure it is the right way to do.

I am really appreciate if you can give me some advise and suggestion, and share your experience with similar situation!

Brother
All u need is to wait ..........and thats it . you will send USCIS only those papers what they will ask u to submit.
Hopefully u will get ur GC soon.
best of luck :)

I came here as F-1 and I didn't send my copy of original visa forr485. I don't think they will ask for it, because they should have it with your asylum application.

Send them only what they are requesting. Do not confuse them - they are already confused. Whatever they need - they will ask.

Morning is right

Do not send them anything unless asked... it might just delay your process more. I spoke with an attorney friend .. he adviced the same....

Remember the golden rule of communicating with the INS-USCIS: do not ever volunteer any information: they may and they will use it against you. The least what can happen, processing of your case will be significantly delayed.

I 94

mattman, do not send anything if they don't ask for it, I lost my pasport with the visa on it and the I 94 as well, but remember that they have the records of everytime you entered the country, don't worry, keep this papers safe , they may need them later but don't submit anything they don';t ask for.
