Hi,

Please don\'t get frustrated...I know it\'s really really frustrating, when you don\'t even get your receipt notice...

INS has a great deal of expertise in testing people\'s patience...that said, we also need to understand and adjust to the whole scheme of
things...when I was all set to apply for 485 in September 1999, there
was an avalanche of applications with my lawyer and it took them a
while to get my application to VSC, which in turn took a while to
enter the information in their system...I was quite frustrated...but,
there isn\'t much I could do, since everyone became current in July
1999, and mine was just another application in the ocean of applications that VSC received...my ND was 12/99...

It took VSC (as you might know already) about 7 months to just go thru August-September 1999 applications...

What I am trying to say is, you are also a victim of the circumstances...in your case, it is the volume of 245(i) applications in combination with this mail room problems that VSC is having which
resulted in you not getting your receipt so far...

Yes, CP is an option...depending on where your local consul is, you
might have to file I-824 (which VSC will take about 3-4 months to
approve) and then have your file transferred to your local consul...
it would take roughly about 6 months from there onwards...although
with the dates becoming current, it is too hard to predict how things
will move from now on...

CP, although is a much faster process, has its own set of problems...you might want to consider those carefully, before opting for it...

Wish I could be of more help!
