Should I pay the lawyer if I file I-485 by myself?

They are working so slow that I don't want them to screw up my I-485 petition. It took them 3 days for just reviewing the forms I have already completed. I am afraid that they will not send my I-485 to CIS in this week. Since I have everything in hand, I can send thru Fedex tomorrow by myself. In this case, should I pay the lawyer even if I file I-485 for myself? My NIW I-140 is pending now. How can I deal with them if my I-140 is approved later?

Here is what I signed with the lawyer:
--------------------
The total legal fee to represent you in this matter is $4,500. The only other fees you will need to pay will be the required INS filing fees and FedEx costs. Payment will be due as follows:

Due to begin representation. $1,500

Due upon filing of the Form I-140 Petition with the INS. $1,000

Due ONLY upon approval of the Form I-140 Petition by the INS. $1,000

Due upon filing the Form I-485 Adjustment of Status applications. $1,000

TOTAL $4,500
----------------------

Thank you very much for your inputs!

Just get it there before the dedline. Talk to the lawyer and tell him that if they cannot send it you will do as this will affect you tremendously and if you have everything, if the lawyer agrees to everything send it yourself. Don't want it screwed by the lawyer sending it late or wrong address or using the wrong label.
