Should I or Should not I? :-)

May 13th my wife is going for oath ceremony. Mine has not arrived even on last Saturday. I have very little hope it will arrive this week, given the time before 13th, I have.

I tried talking to 800 number guys and left messages for the local USCIS office but no one ever bother to call back. Obviously.

Should I go in person and ask if my application is approved and a mail they sent me for oath is missing in the mail or should I just keep quiet and watch? I know the Milwaukee office conducts oaths only once a month. If this month is gone, the agonizing wait will be another month extended.

Put in my shoes, what would you do? Thanks and regards.

If I were in your shoes, I would ask why. Attend your wife's oath, then followup with the local office (maybe you can ask them at oath itself)

Thanks for the immediate respose.

I am planning to attend the ceremony with my wife anyway, when she goes there on 13th. In fact I plan to carry my GC and Passports and see if my name too appears on the list there.

Is it possible to take oath - if my name too is on list but I never received letter so far - even without recieving the oath letter? i.e., just by asking them to verify if my name is in the oath takers list on that day?

Or should I go to USCIS office before 13th to make an inquiry? TIA

99% of ur work is done, if u want to ask, go ahead and ask, whats the worst they can say? not yet?

Take ur stuff(GC/Pass). thought is UNLIKELY that your name was missed for the oath.

Do follow up , but have some patience, its the INS remember :(

Did your name check clear?

THEY NEVER MENTIONED THAT IT WAS UNDERWAY OR REQUIRED. I WAS GIVEN A LETTER THAT N400 WAS FORWARDED FOR APPROVAL. NEVER ONCE DID THE OFFICER MENTION ABOUT NAME CHECK!

When I took my oath - the first thing they asked for was the oath letter (with the back side filled-up which asks questions about leaving US between interview and oath) and green card.

They kept both of them and gave me the Naturalization Certificate along with a letter from President and information on how to get passport.

I suppose you need the letter before hand.
