Should I or not ... (EAD, H1 extension)

I am in dilemma whether or not to apply for my 7th year H1 extension.

I have applied 140/485 concurrently in April 2003.

My 140 was approved this March. My current H1 expires in June 2004. I came into this country for the first time in Oct 98. So, my six years finish in Oct of this year.

Now, should I apply for H1 extension? Or should I start using my EAD after June (when my H1 expires)
What are the pros/cons of these approaches?

I very much appreciate your attention towards my queries.

As your I140 has been approved and 6 months have passed, there is no risk in using EAD. You do need to renew your EAD/AP every year till your 485 is approved. Similarly, you need to renew H1B also.

Using H1B will turn out cheaper as you need to renew only H1B and H4, if applicable, while using EAD will need both EAD and AP to be renewed for every applicant.

If you are not married and planning to get married in India, H1B will be better.
