Should I have renewed GC before my 16th birthday?

Hi,

I got my GC when I was 14 years and 10 months old. Now, I am 22 and still have another 2.5 years on my GC. Should I have renewed my GC before my 16th birthday, or is the card valid for another 2.5 years?


If the card is valid, can one file for a new card even if it still has 2.5 years left on it?
 
Were you fingerprinted for your green card and does your green card have an image of your fingerprints? If yes, there is no need to renew it.
