Should I get a new attorney to monitor 485 using portability

If I change job after more than 6 months in 485
(concerned with layoff and wanting to join a more
stable place), should I get another attorney (not
the company one) to continue monitor the case?

I already have AP, EAD.

What documents do I need to ask the current attorney
to transfer to the new one?
Can the current attorney refuse to transfer?
I guess the new attorney has to file something with INS.
Will this cause further delay, or problems?

Is it a good idea to do this, or should I just wait for
INS notice? My concern is what if INS only informs
the attorney and I may be out of the loop.

Thanks for your response,

If you have changed job try to get I-140 copy or filling receipt, I-485 filling receipt, and copy of your approved LC from old lawyer or HR department of past employer
You should hire new attorney because he/she will only work in your interest and will reply to any RFE if asked by INS in future, will help you to take the AC21 portability and will draft the new employer letter/intent change letter looking at the old LC copy to match the skills and AC21 letter for AOS with new employer
I-485 is your petition and I hope you singed G28 form that your old company lawyer represent you all the communication will go to company lawyer, when you hire your Lawyer send new form G28 so that your lawyer takes over from old lawyer, if you have moved update your address with INS lawyer will let you know how to do it. your new Lawre will guide you what to ask from old lawyer or he/she can directly ask for the documents from company lawyer, choose a good lawyer
