I have not received my approval letter yet but I have taken appointment for this Friday. What should I do? Cancel and reschedule or go ahead with e-mail and online printouts? Any experience with such cases with Infopass?

Sounds like it certainly is not going to hurt your case....whether it helps or not is a different story

does'nt matter. I got an infopass appointment but did not go first time. this was with chicago office.

If you dont need a appointment, please CANCEL it. There are lot of people who are trying to get a appointment at the earliest possible date and it will definitely help. When you CANCEL, that date/time will immediately show up for others to book.

My question

My question is whether they will allow me with email approval letter for Infopass stamping or not? If not then I will cancel my appointment. My appointment is tomorrow and I have not received my approval letter yet. My attorney has no suggestion for me. May be he is unaware. I do not blame him. I wanted to know whether anyone has done Infopass stamping with email approval.

Thanks

I saw couple of threads onthis forum where people saying that even though they did not receive their approval notice, they went and the INS office checked their database and stamped. I guess you can search for those posting onthis forum. I think if you see a thread opened by GC-May-2004, you will find that.

cancel it and take another appointment

Hi js123431,
If you are not sure you will receive your approval notice EOD today. Cancel your appointment and take another for any other day.
For my wife same thing happend. We went there only with infopass. They let us into the building but then I had hard time explaining that why we are here without approval notice. They did stamped her passport.
I would suggest if it is not urgent cancel your appointment and go for new.

Go with your appointment

JS123431, go with your appointment with the email printouts having your receipt number clearly printed(LIN#). My friend recently took email printouts along with his passports and 485 application receipts, and INS stamped his and his spouse passports.
So, you too give it a try. If you get well, else book another appointment and go again. There is no harm. Hope this helps.

Thanks

GC Don,

Thanks for your input. I will go ahead with the stamping as I realize now that I may have to go to my homeland soon!

Passport Stamped with email

Hello Everyone,

We had our PP stamped with email approval notice at Columbus, OH. The person at the counter was very nice. She did not ask any questions or did not surprise that we had not received our approval letter yet. She went on with the stamping in regular way and told us that we will have our card before the expiry of our stamping.

I hope this will help to lots of people.

Thanks

JS
