Should I call USCIS?

I had my interview 3 weeks ago and was told during the interview that I would receive a letter in 2-3 weeks.

I got a 652 form with decision cannot be made ticked off.

What do you guys think? Should I call to check on the status or would this cause them to delay it further?

What do you think the reason is for not beeing approved instantly? What was the reason of delay?

Couple of things. They messed up my family name on my GC back in the late 90's and I requested that they spell it correctly.
The other issue was that i dont work and live with family. I don't need to work as I am financially secure...and don't plan to work. There was also another trip i made that was after my application so she made me sign something for it.

I am not sure why there is a delay and she did not give me a reason despite me asking. All I was told was that I would get a response in 2-3 weeks.

It is usual for an approved case to take 2 weeks to get the oath letter. If a decision could not be made, give it some more time, maybe another week.

The OP posted in some other threads, from where it seems like he/she does not live in US. Why? The OP indicated making 3-4 trips outside this year already, then one trip before the interview and asked if he/she could make another trip after the interview. This besides the fact that the OP does not work ... this would sound very unusual to the IO. I would suspect they will revert with some RFE with as much probability as they would give a final decision.

If you asked for the "name change" that might have triggered another name check on your corrected name. I wouldn't call. I would just wait for now.

If what sanjo says is correct, I bet they are working on your continues residency to make sure that you are eligible for naturalization.

Give another week or 2. But check on oath ceremonies in your area. District Courts sometimes publishing schedule on their web sites. If any scheduled ceremonies during next 1-2 weeks, try to call USCIS
Good luck!

Thanks a lot for the input guys. Just like to clarify that I have been living in the country all these years but had to make several trips this year due to someone in the family being terminally ill.

Where do I check for oath ceremonies in my area?

Thanks

What's your DO? Were are you live?

I checked the local District Court website and it had nothing.

Check this link, may not give you specific dates, but will give a generic idea. I have linked to currently the last page (69).

However, scheduled oaths are unrelated to your case. In general, DO will keep on sending oath letters after they process a file. This is usually 1-2 weeks after approval. Your situation is different ... your file first needs to clear.

Not every court posting schedule:confused:
Another thing, try to stick with folks from your area on this forum and track theirs Oath ceremonies. And try to call USCIS at least a week before oath ceremonies to make sure if you're approved, and the oath letter isn't lost in the mail.

Update:
Called the USCIS this morning and was unable to speak with an IO. The guy refused to put e through and insisted that he could check my status. He did and informed me that the info was not updated yet so he had no info for me.

He asked me to wait 90 days and if its still the same situation I can request a infopass or service request.
