Should I bring tax transcript for the citizenship interview?

Hi All,

I got my interview letter but it still just the basic documents.
Some people on this forum indicated that there were asked for tax transcript in the Boston office. Is that a required document?

Would tax returns from the last 3 years be enough?
Or do I actually need to get the transcript and if so then for how many years back and should it include this year since I haven't file my return yet?

Thanks

Tax transcripts are only relevant in a limited number of situations: for marriage-based naturalization applications and if there are issues regarding continuous residency (e.g. if you had extended foreign trips).
Unless this applies to you, tax transcripts will not be asked for and there is no reason to bring them.

If you are a worrier in general, you could bring tax transcripts for your own personal psychological comfort (but do not show them unless and until specifically asked to do so by the IO).

If your applying based on marriage to a US citizen then I would recommend transcripts. I just had my interview in Philadelphia and they asked for the tax transcripts. So to be safe.

I sent my IRS transcript with my N400, do I need to bring other copies to my interview?

Hey guys. So I sent an IRS transcript with my N400 application but I was wondering if I need to bring the same transcripts, basically request new copies, to the actual interview? Don't they already have all of those since I sent them with my n400 application? I actually only have 1 day so there is no way to request them, but I was just wondering and wanted to make sure I am prepared to answer the question - why didn't you bring them. Thanks!
