Should I ask original copy of 485 Recipt from lawyer? Will they give me?

I have a similar question.

From my previous experience I have realized that, the lawyers will tend to hold on to the receipt notices. In fact, they even refused to send me a copy of the I485 receipt notice, saying that "it is not in our policy to do so".
Should I call the INS and get a courtsey copy after telling them the situation ?

You need a original receipt if you need to travel outside US. Also you need parole.

If you want the original tell lawyer that you need to urgently visit you home country and you are going to get the parole from the local INS office.
 
Do you have to have original receipt

for traveling outside of US? If one travel to Canada, and have a vaild I-94, return to US within 30days, Does he needs original receipt?
