My sister is in India, she has valid B2 visit visa for 5years and has been to the US and gone back to India once. She now wants to come for further studies in US. I am concerned if she applies for F-1 and it gets denied, they may cancel her visit visa as well.

Can someone please shine some light on this
- Does the US consulate cancel valid B2 visa if student visa is denied
- Is it possible for her to come to US on visit visa and then gain admission in school and transfer to student status via I-94

Thanks

It is possible for the B2 to be cancelled. Entering on B2 and COS to F1 is very difficult. She should do it the right way and get stamping in home country. She should NOT ABUSE the privilege she has been granted. It is proposals like yours that make it difficult for young people to get visit visas when they are - unlike your sister - a legitimate visitor.

concernedforus, not sure who u are and I don;t really care, but your posts are nothing but reflections of having judgemental, immature, narrow minded, and repelling thoughts so please do not waste your time and others as well.

Your over reaction to proper advice leads me to believe that you and your sister intend to commit fraud. No legitimate student should fear visa stamping as you obviously do.

Mind you manners. As a natural born citizen with extended family in immigration processing (legally and waiting a l-o-n-g time), I resent people like yourself who believe that they and their family are so special that they do not need to comply with US laws. You and your ilk make it more difficult for legitimate travelers. Either do it right or don't do it at all.
