Does anyone here knows what\'s the advantage of having I-765 and what\'s the disadvantage of having it? Will my H-1B become invalid as soon as I get I-765 approved? Is it better to hold I-765 or H-1?

Incase you change jobs after 180days, you can use your EAD. and also spouse can use it to work.
Just applying for EAD will not make your H1 invalid. There are no disadvantages in applying EAD.
