I am an emergency physician currently on H-1b visa for the J1-waiver job at underserved area. I already completed 4 years on current job. So far, I already filed I-140 & I-485 concurrently last Oct through EB2 by my current employer. However, my I-140 has been stuck for more than 10 months. I feel kind of lost for this endless waiting. Therefore, I thought about NIW maybe another quicker way got GC as following.
Because physician NIW requires 5-year work at underserved area, can I file another I-140 for NIW by counting my previous 4-year work towards the requirement? And maybe I can have status adjustment next year after finishing my 5th year? Thanks!!
