Shocking message from IIO!

Hello friends,

I spoke to an IIO regarding my wife\'s pending 485 application. Everybody assumes that a spouse can be added to the primary\'s 485 anytime before its approval and when it gets approved, the spouse\'s case will also be approved. Well, brace for this! The IIO says no way! That does not happen. If the two applications are not filed together, they will never be joined. Each will have its own RD and its own separate path. So theoretically the dependent case might take an year or more after the primary\'s approval. And in this time, according to my lawyer, it still behooves the primary to stay in his current job because otherwise the spouse\'s case may be rejected.

This is just great! Isn\'t it? I love the ways that INS uses to screw us!
