If I get temporary GC, do I still need to have EAD for work permission?

I'm currently unde H1B and will not change job in 1-2 years...wondering if there're any real benefits applying for EAD now.

If you lose your H1-B job, your EAD will come to your rescue and it will make it easier to find a job without having to wait for another visa for work. Its your call...
