Service Request

I called 800 # yesterday to check my i-485 cause there website says 4 month @ Nebraska service center and i sent mine 5 month ago .

and i think i had a IO on the line she asked some questions .... then she said we received your application 05 Jan and we are processing 07 Jan do you want me to file a Service request on your behalf .

i said no cause i didn't know if i can file another service request on my application i told her its been only 2 days so i would like to wait 1 more week.

is it ok to file a service request even iam 2 days out of processing times .

and too what i know service request will help only if your name check is cleared and received from FBi ? is this true thank you

Its ok to file service request(if you would have done that they would ask you some information about you and your case(very brief) and email or call you telling about the case). At least you will know the what's happening to your file, they won't tell you anything specific though.

In the mean time I have one question:
what's wrong with the file or case if they say:
Based on your request we researched the status of this case. We are actively processing this case. However, we have to perform additional review on this case and this has caused a longer processing time. If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from us within 6 months of this letter, please call customer service at the number provided below.
is there anything to worry about?
