Serious Situation. Please give your suggestions

Hi:

I got my I-140 approved in September, but it took me a hell of a long time to arrange all the documents (birth certificate, mainly). But finally, it\'s all there and it\'s scheduled to be filed shortly. However - here are the issues:

- My H1 has expired. The company which is sponsoring my GC has promised to go along with the GC process - but I do not work with them and don\'t have paychecks. At this time, because of my status, I don\'t work anywhere.

- My attorney says, I *could* still get my GC.

I am in a terrible dilemma. Should I just wrap up everything and leave US? What chances do I have, of actually getting the GC - without paychecks from sponsoring company and without a current job. I could potentially try to get a similar job when I get my EAD - but that would be 90 days away, if at all I get it. And then getting an exact similar job, under current scenario, could be very difficult.

Experts, please advice.

Thanks.

InSearchOfGC - Oh dear, when is it going to get over!!!

Wit h I94 expired...

you are in a big soup. if You can still find anybody who can do H1 for you, you should go ahead with lawyer\'s plan. You need not wait for EAD to get another job. Just make sure that you file the 485 ASAP without much delay.
If your qualifications, skill set is still saleable, mere present condition should not be a downer. You can even do some certification and soup up your skill set. Good Luck.
