September 2011 Filers

Any updates from anyone?

After 45 days, I still can't view my case status online but I pray I get my IL any day now.

Biometrics Appointment Letter Recd. Updating Signature. Is there a spreadsheet available for tracking? There was a very helpful spreadsheet in the Citizenship forum..

Signature

Guys, Please update your signature to include your District Office, this is the office where your interview will be held. This information will help others in the thread to relate more accurately with those who are in their district. Thanks FYI the ASC office is the office you get your fingerprints, you may want to add that information as well

Hi guys,

I had my fingerprints taken on Tuesday, October 18th.

Hope all is going well with everyone.

Our interview is all set for Nov. 29th. God is great!:)

I called yesterday and was told to wait 5 months because Baltimore is currently processing April cases. But something told me to call again tonight. This time, I got a really patient lady who took her time to check and gave me the good news. She said the letter was mailed out yesterday (same day I was told to wait 5 months). No email/text notification and I have not been able to check my case status online for the past 52 days.

Hope this encourages others waiting. If you feel the cust. service rep is in a hurry to get off the phone, call again and speak to someone else. Good luck to everyone.

Congrats Bright98.

I really hope everything goes well for your interview. :)
BTW, have you received or heard anything about your EAD card?

How is everyone else in this thread coming along so far? I hope things are going well with everyone.

Thanks so much. I hope things go smoothly for you too. I just checked online and my EAD and AP were approved today..

Goodluck to everyone.

FBI Phone number to check FP Status?

Does anyone know the Phone number to chk FP status? How long does it take for the status to be updated after Biometric? Both I130 and 485 are in Initial Review.

Hey ssampy,

I have trying to find the answer to this question too, but no luck. I didnt even know that you can check the status of FBI name check process until I read in some post that a guy did it.
When did you have your fingerprints taken? My biometrics was on 18th and it still says "Initial Review". However, seeing the timelines of other people, I guess we should hear something in 1 week to 10 days.

Hi guys. The number to call is 304-625-5590. It usually takes them 24-48hrs if the prints are okay. I called the after I did mine and I learned it was sent to uscis the same day as my FP.

Goodluck

Thanks Bright98.

I called that number today and they told me that my FP records were checked and was sent back to USCIS the same day itself too. However, I am not sure if this includes the name check or just the fingerprint check as the entire background check consists of mainly 4 processes including name check with FBI and other agencies, FP check, etc. But glad to see that its kinda fast.

Hey guys,

My case status changed to "Testing and Interview" today. My interview is scheduled on 20th December 2011 at National Benefits Center. Hopefully, I should receive it in the mail soon.

Good luck to rest of the September filers. Lets get started! :)

Hey fellow filers,

I received my interview letter in mail today (Interview is on 20th Dec. morning). I was going through the list of documents needed for interview and have a question.

It asks for "Certified copy of translation any document not in English". In my case, that document will be birth certificate. What is meant by certified copy? Do I need to seek help of professional translators available online? Because while sending the AOS package, I just took help from a friend who is fluent in both the languages (my native language and English). He prepared a translated document and at the bottom of that paper, he declared that he is fluent in both the languages and that the translation is accurate and stuff. So, a similar thing will do or do I need to have it translated by professional agencies as I mentioned above?

You answered your own question. Certified meaning by a recognized agency, professionally done, and preferably notarized. USCIS doesn't play, don't give them a chance to stonewall you.
