My husband and myself both received I-485 approval notices with information to call and setup a biometrics appointment. We set our appointments. My husband went first only to be sent home from the support center. The lady said we couldn't call and make an appointment but should wait to receive a letter stating our appointment.

No letter has come, the approvals stated we had to make our appointments within a time period which has now expired.

We are going to the UCICS office this morning to see if we can get our passports stamped.

Any advice ?

Biometrics now taken

The head office stated that the support center should not have sent us home and that I-485 approval letters asking to call the 1-800 number to setup an appointment are valid and the appointment should be kept and accepted by the support centers.

The head office sent us over to the support center for immediate biometrics. Our cards are in the mail now. We lost about 5 months of time.

If you get a I-485 approval asking you to make a biometrics appointment, make your appointment, make sure you take your letter and conformation number for your appointment etc.

Good luck.
