Sending updated forms to KCC

Hi all,

I need to update some info on my DS 230 form (change of my address, change of address where GC is to be mailed, and updating employment data).

I want to redo a new form, scan and email it to them. I think I recall a few people doing that instead of mailing it and having success (correct me if I'm wrong!!).

My concern is that I think I will be current in like 3 weeks, so what impact would this have? When does KCC send my file to the embassy? Will it push back my interview date? I guess I'm worried that KCC will either tell me that it's too late to change the info with them and to do it at the embassy, or that they'll do it but that I end up not getting a 2NL in a month but weeks later.

Please advise!! Thanks :)

IMO, the changes you're trying to effect are quite minimal and they have absolutely no impact on the outcome of your interview, not unless you're trying to qualify based on work experience. And that basically means you can hand in the updated forms at the time of your interview.

However, if it makes you feel any better, you can equally email the forms to KCC now, it will not impact when your interview gets scheduled assuming your CN becomes current with the next VB as anticipated.

It won't push back your interview - but if there is only three weeks before you are current they probably won't process it in time - no matter make the changes - and also take the changed forms to the interview, just in case the old forms get sent instead.

Thanks!!

Sm1smom, I actually kept changing my mind about sending an update, which is why I even waited this long. Basically, I was in the US when I sent in the forms, but I'm not there anymore. So not only does my address change continents, but I also have to account for my legal status (since the previous form showed I was in the US last May and I never sent an update that I actually left the country prior to the expiration of my status). In addition, I filled question 30 (places of residence since age 16) in the wrong order - I did it chronologically while they want it in reverse chronological order. So that's what is prompting me to go ahead and update the info - it just seems like a lot of little 'mistakes' or outdated info.

I think I'll do what you both suggested - send in the new forms by email, then take a copy at the interview.

Oh, I see. Then make the changes and email the forms. Then take copies of those forms to the embassy for your interview, including a print out of the email you're sending to KCC.
