Sending passport to canadian consulate in india from usa

hello everyone,

I am a student on F1 visa in usa. my parents had applied for canadian citizenship a few years back. and finally after all the tedious process of PCC and FBI finger printing and medical clearance the canadian consulate is asking to send them our passports. Now i am in usa my parents are in india.

So is it legal to send my passport out of usa to india by mail.

Also can someone suggest the exact photographs dimensions these people require they are asking me to send them photographs again. Does anyone know a studio in boston who are professionals for canadian immigration.
 
It is not legal to send passport by mail, as far as the type of photograps, you or your parents should have recived letter from CIC withthe specifications
 
So do I need to travel to India to new delhi for this process and stay in india till I get my visa stamped on my passport. Please give me some suggestions as to how to handle this process of sending my passport to the canadian consulate in india from usa.

Send it with someone going to India along with a letter authorizing the person to carry it.
 
Yes it is legal

It is legal to do so. Please read the back of your passport - it gives enough info.
Acctually did you know that for ppl who are students on a work permit etc in Canada who want to become PR there they have to mail their passports to Buffalo for PR stamp so technically if they do that they are violating Indian law.
But plz give the porr guy carying your passport authorization letter. Otherwise incase they find 2 passports on them they will think they are up to something ....

its legal to send passport to india from uk by mail and will the canadian consulate will have no objection in giving me visa if i am in uk and my passport is in india
