Hi mbs821,
I contacted Senator Lieberman and Senator Dodd. Got the details from their Web Sites:
http://lieberman.senate.gov and
http://dodd.senate.gov
I wrote a detalied letter to them giving all the dates starting from labor application.
Amazingly, both the offices contacted Vermont and called me back with the status information. This was very useful. They were able to get precise information on my case and infomed me that your case is under review by an officer and that that you will soon receive request for some evidence. Within a week I got RFE! After replying to RFE, I once again sent letter to both of the senators. Both the offices called me back informing be to be patient and that there are no more issues and your case will get approved soon. That is exactly what happened.
I believe there is no harm in writing to Senators requesting to expedite your case. At least they are able to get better information from Vermont compared to talking with USCIS on phone.
Thanks
