Self-sponsor

My parents-in-law are attending a visa interview, and we are preparing their papers. If they intend to sponsor themselves, what kind of documents do we need to send them? (I guess an invitation letter, copies of our passports, anything else? letter from employer?)
My father in law works, and has a salary of around 5 lakhs/annum. They can also show around 10 lakhs in savings, fixed deposits, post office bonds, etc. Does that seem good enough in terms of financial stability?
Thanks for all the help!

As long as they satisfy the interviewing consul that they are bonafide visitors, they will get their visas. Having a job, savings, property in their "home" country will help their case. Having a child in the US will hurt their case.
