Selective Service Registration

After we get the Green card stamp, is it "required" for us to register with the Selective Service ( at www.sss.gov) ??

My lawyer has asked me to ..however I have not seen anybody discuss that in this forum ...

anybody familiar with this ?

I think if you (male) are < 25 years or one of your son is < 25 > ?, you (or your son) have to register for selective service.

Well if you don't register then you can be prosecuted and you are ineligible for job in the federal govt and financial sutdent etc.

fines are upto :250000.
