selective service didnt recognise my social security number. What to do?

Hi

I just tried to register with selective service online and used my social security number that i received while on a j1 here a few years ago. But It came up that they didnt accept it as they didnt recognise my ss no. is this unusual and what should i do?

it is unusual for established SSNs. It's not unusual for new SSNs. Register on paper, use your SSN, get a confirmation. Even illegals have to register, and they don't have an SSN.
