Seeking Help for Tourist Visa @ Madras

I am preparing the sponsorship for my mother-in-law so as to apply for a tourist visa from Madras. She is planning to visit the US in August. I've checked www.immihelp.com for guidelines.

She has come once before, obtaining a visa on her first try and that too w/o an interview. But thats been 4 years now. She is 60+ years now.

Though I feel that her visa procedure would go smooth, I just want to seek some extra help from those who have gone thru similar situation recently resulting in visa approval.

A list of needed paperwork from my side and any advice/suggestions will be welcomed. Is there anything to be done to obtain a 10-yr visa as opposed to a 6-month visa? Am I [too early/late/right on time] if she is planning to come in August, 04?

From 2003 Jan Experience:For second time visa, I think they used to give 10yrs normally. (But it may not be predictable, I know 4 cases, 2my relatives and 2 my friend's parents (all same day)).

As far as coming for Aug' 04, you can start now. It gives you more time for planning and picking dates and airlines....more importantly, once you get the visa, you are relieved from this mundane thing.
