Hi,

On the B2-visa application form. It says,
enter your Surname
and Given Name as (First Name Unknown: FNU) if you don't have any First Name.
These details should match the details in your passport.

But, my passport has
Surname: <Blank>
Given Name: Richa

If In the application form. I write:
Surname: N.A. (Not Applicable)
Given Name: Richa

Will my visa get rejected?

Regards,
Richa.

Surname is name of your dad or family name. Not everyone use their Dad’s name as Surname, instead they have common family name which will be used as initial.

If you don’t have Surname in passport, you can still take GRE and get US Visa, but life in US will be real tough, from getting SSN, Drivers license, other documents all require Last Name. You will have tough time to get all the names to match in all the documents.

If your Surname in Indian passport is blank and if you are planning to goto US or Study in US, you better add Surname in passport before applying for Visa or booking GRE Exam dates.

I'm only looking to visit US.
I'm not going to give GRE neither staying there long time.

I have Indian Passport and am living in UK.
Other thing I can do is fill
Surname: Richa
Given Name: Richa
in DS-160 form.

but my passport doesn't have any Surname.
