Security/Name Checks Problem!!!!

Hi, Guys,

My 485 has been pending since last October, a few weeks ago, I sent an inquiry to USCIS and got their reply: "...Your case is pending because Security/Name Checks is conducting...", who has similar experience in this situation? do you know how long this check cann be completed? Is this check carried out in FBI or USCIS? Thanks very much for your kind reply.

FBI does the check

I think the only it means is that your name check process has not been cleared yet. It does not nescesarily means that they have found any problems.

I will suggest you to send an E-Mail enquiry to the FBI asking for the "Name Check" status.

I also sent inquiries a couple of times to TSC. The zip code was the one for I-485 cases. Now that I haven't received any response in the past couple of months, I am not sure that I sent the inquiry to the right office out there. Could you tell me the zip code that you used? Thanks,

FBI Name Check E-Mail

E-Mail a request of Name Check status to the following E-Mail address: fbinncp@ic.fbi.gov

In your E-Mail message make sure to provide your full Name, DOB, Alien # and SSN (if applicable).

Wait patently since I do not know how long will take the FBI to respond; I sent my request on 11/16/04 and I have not received a response yet.
 
I had send an enquiry to FBI, I got the response after 6 weeks. They are slow but they do respond.
