Hi Guys,

Does anybody know approximately how long it takes for FBI to do a name check after Bio? I called TSC to find out the status of my case and the lady told me that they are waiting on FBI to send them my info. Below see my processing time.
Also what is exectly the name check? Can they find out if you've been to your COP before you've applied for GC? I am a derivative asylee and I went to my COP for 2 weeks but I travelled to a third country.. Did not fly straight there....
Anybody with the same experience?

BTW my huband already got his GC.... We applied @ the same time...
 
FBI name check is criminal record check basically. There is no set time for how long it takes. And as for your other question, I doubt they would find out that you went to your COP, especially since you used a third country, but even let's say they did, they wouls have then at least requested additional evidence because for all they know you had a legit reason for your travel (like sick family member), so if there was such suspicion, you would have been made aware in some way. And also make no mistake: FBI name check has nothing to do with your travels.
