security clearance average time

I am waiting in Toronto since 2/28 after my case was sent for name check clearance to State Department. I have a common muslim last name. I drove here from US for H1b visa stamping. I have been told various times for clearance from the consulate and state department ranging from 30 days to 4 months. Does any one exactly know how much time it is taking recently?
