Security clearance after citizenship.

Hi,
I would like to get your opinion on the above subject in case you apply for a job which requires a security clearance. Is it going to be faster after getting your citizenship since FBI did a name check on you? Please let me know because I may get an offer soon for a job which requires a SC.

if its dept of defense i think they do their own security clearance. mine took about 6 months but im still stuck in name check .......go figure..

Being a U.S. citizen is a necessary but not necessarily sufficient condition for obtaining a federal government job security clearance. This was discussed on this forum. The major concern is foreign preference, including procession of dual citizenship, close relatives in foreign countries, social contacts, financial ties, etc. Do a Google search on "dual citizenship" and "security clearance" for more information.
