Hello Gurus,

Actually when do they start Security Check or Name Check once we file I-485???
1) After giving first FP ??

See my signature for details... I am not getting why my name check still pending.
I am sure there people out there who are still not cleared but can some one shed some light how and when do they start this check and how we can proceed now.

Any time after filling 485, mine NC was ordered on 12/22/2004, if I believe what is told by customer rep.
Why it is pending? is a million $ question.
 
USCIS sends an inquiry to FBI for name check almost immediately. It seems to take about 2 years for approval. Yours seems late since your RD is Dec '03. You need to inquire. Contact FBI, USCIS, senators, congressmen, their mothers, fathers, uncles and aunts, if possible!

I'm also curious to know when they start the NC because I did not see any case update that the NC was cleared. My I-485 was transferred from VSC to TSC on Mar 2 2007 and since then the status is "Case is transferred and it is pending in TSC". How do we know whether NC is cleared or not. I called the service rep and she did not say anything holding up my case. She immediately opened a SR. But the SR # ended with VSC- not sure why. Shouldn't be TSC? Anyways I have also booked an Info pass for 15th. Will update waht happens next. Thanks all

Good sign, otherwise severals are getting security check Pending, security clearance pending answers from these reps, including myself.
 
InfoPass is a good approach because you get to meet an immigration officer as opposed to talking to a service rep over the phone who knows little about your case/about the immigration process. Good luck.
 
Info pass revealed same name check pending..... did anybody get response for their Service Request which ending with VSC??
