Security Check / Clearance ??

"name and birthdate hold" and Security check / clerance are all different names for the same issue just another time consuming process that is keeping everyone on hold.

What is your PD and 485 filing Dates ??

Mine is EB2 Substitute/Approved Labor - Priority Date Sep 2001
I485: FD 11/08/2004 ND 11/09/2004

Which means technically you are supposed to hear the good news in another 3-6 months again this is based on the PD processing with the jan 2006 Visa Bulletin so keep your fingers crossed other then that pray [ a lot ] that is it.
Currently working on 01JAN01 for EB2's and you have PD of Sep 2001 and the VSC processing time for 485 is DEC 04 where are you have FD and ND < 04 which is a sure indication that 3-6 is the your time.
