Security Check by USCIS? (CSC)

My 485 ND: Dec 31 2004, I am the dependent, my spouse is the primary and hers is approved in July 2007, still waiting on mine.
CSC recently requested for my updated FP, I submitted then on Feb 22, 2008.

Now when I enquire about the status, they mention that it is under "Security check by USCIS", what does this mean?, my FBI NameCheck was already cleared, so what is this "Security Check" abt? and what is the typical time line on this?

I am in the same situation. I logged a Service Request and they told be mine is "stuck on Internal/External Checks", not sure what that means.

I called again and spoke to a different agent who said he never heard anything like "Internal/External Checks"
