Security Check by Mount Laurel (NJ) Local USCIS - Any idea?

I went to Mount Laurel Local USCIS office today and was told that Security Check is still pending. I was Interviewed In May, FP completed in June, Name Check has been cleared, yet they never requested Visa number for me when the PD was current in June.

I heard that NSC and other service centers had reserved visa numbers for the approvable cases even when security checks are pending. Does that works differently for the local transferred cases?

Any one in simillar situation? - please share your story.

My case is pending in Pittsburgh local office. I had an arugment with IIO (Immigration Information officer) about the same issue of reserving visa numbers.

He says as far as their office, they request visa number only just before approval and my case is not yet ready for approval and he has no idea about what service centers are doing.

He says that's how the adjudication process works and they are not suppose to acquire visa number before hand.

I am really frustrated and it is really bad luck if the case was transferred to a local office.
