Secondary TN Requirements

I am currently living in the US in a TN visa. I have been talking with a start-up who is interested in hiring me part time on a second TN. They don't have much money and since I am very interested in the project I do not mind working for little money. My concern is that there may be a minimum labor or wage requirement for a secondary TN. Is there a minimum salary or hourly wage need for a TN? Is there a minimum number of hours required per week for the TN? If it matters I am a mechanical engineer.

My thought is that I could work 8 hours a week for $10 an hour. I would be fine with the wage, and the start-up could afford me.

Take care,

JCT

There is no specific wage requirement, however that means it is upto the discretion of the admitting officer, who would see $10/hr and conclude that you were not really being professionally engaged, as well as possibly affecting market wage -- you would be denied.

Thank you. Would it be better to say the start-up wants to hire me as a consultant using a reasonable wage, with an estimated number of hours per week or on an as needed basis?

Thanks

Jon
