second parttime job on EAD

Hi,
My 485 RD is 8/27/2003 and my I-140 is approved on 05/12/2004. My H1B expired on 05/19/2004. I am currenly working on EAD.

One of my friend told me that he going to get client to work part-time. He told me they will issue 1099 for the tax filings. My question is what are the problems/risks, if any? Am I allowed to work for this job legally on EAD?

What's the problem? Only issue might be if this is a lot of work then it may call into question your intent to work for the sponsoring employer, but if it's a little side gig then there's really no issue.
