second fingerprinting

I just recd a letter from the local INS office informing me that I am scheduled for fingerprints( 2nd fingerprints) in order hat FBI can do the fingerprinting check. I had done my fingerprints in August 03 and my interview was on dec 03. At that point I was informd the officer has to make her decision and after 15 mths of waiting I contacted the senator and congressman. Meanwhile 2 months back I had called on the fbi main line inquiring about my fingerprints and they said they had sent back the results to INS the very next day with no records found ( which i think is good). I sent an email to fbi requesting for name check but nothing yet on that. No replies from the senators and congressman.
Does this mean that I would have to go through another looong wait and would I have to do my medical again as well? If anyone has been in a similar boat please do share your experiences. Thank you.

PF expires after every 15 months. So may be that is why they wants it again.
 
Thanks amishah for your prompt reply.does it also mean medical will be required again? I had submitted all my medical papers to the officer during my interview.Has anyone had similar experiences and does it mean the begining of another loong wait? Its just been too long a wait and is just getting frustrating. I intend travelling on my ap to india at the end of the yr and wish this geen card issue gets resolved before that.I have heard of people getting the letter of approval when they travel on ap and have to cut short their trips. I appreciate all your replies.
 
Is' nt there anyone who has had a similar experience. I am just anxious to get done with this loooong wait so please do let me know if any of you have had a similar call for 2nd fingerprinting.thankyou
