Sure. You can apply for second EAD on your own. Don't waste money doing EAD or AP thro attorney!
From www.cis.gov website you can download the form and file the paper application as per the instructions in the form. (or) You can e-file the I-765 form (in the same web-site), then fix up an appointment for biometrics at your local CIS application help center and then forward the supporting documents with the confirmation receipt.
I did e-filing for my second and third EADs and had received the EADs without any problems.

I agree with Dallas03096. MY lawer charge for every single thing. You can do it by your own EAD & AP if you are paying this expence from your pocket.

Can you let me know what all documents you attached and how soon before expiry do you plan to send the application? I also plan to do it on own rather than form attorney.

Read carefully and put your name and info,
check latest fee on web site not inside in form, form may be old.
