Scheduling appointments.....

It's probably different for every embassy, but I have a hard time scheduling my interviews. I called Manila consulate and they asked me to send the request in letter which I did. Then called back about a month latter and still no appointment available and was told to wait for response from them.

It is so difficult to make arrangement (flight reservation, jet lag, time off work, etc...) and I hope they'll give me enough time to prepare.

How do you guys do it? Please share your experience. Thanks.

Basically the embassy will let you know when they are ready. Normally they do give you a month to come down. Just like you i sent them an email and did not hear from them until a month before my interview they replied by email to my request giving me a date and time.
All you can do is price out fares and try and get your seat booked on an airline but do not pay for it until you recieve a confirmation.
What i did was i had several Travel agents and thus had several bookings.
thanks

ned:

ddagsyn has given an excellent and correct explanation which is common across consulates of many countries.

also check with yana94@yahoo.com or yana94 id on this forum and myra12 id on this forum since they have recently done their cp successfully thru manila. They should be able to give you specific guidance. Send them a pm!

Thanks...

to both of you. kd1403, yana did not repond at all. Myra did provide some good info but lost contact with her.

Try searching (use the search link at top right corner) by the word 'manila' under consular processing thread and you will find enough postings and i am sure you will find your answer.
