Got passports stamped at San Jose INS sub-office on 9/17. WAC-01-266, AD, 9/12. In at 1:40pm, Out at 2:25pm. The whole process took about 45 minutes.

Here is the full story:
Checked in at 1:40pm, me and my wife,
Waited in line to take a token, only 4-5 people in front of us,
Assigned #'s and went directly to window #6,
Sumitted Approval notice, AP, EAD, passport, 2 photos,
Printed the right index finger, did signatures,
My wife went through the same process,
The officer called us in about 10 minutes,
Got the passports with stamps on it.
The officer chatted with us for 5 minutes. No people behind us.
Got out of the INS office at 2:25pm.

Was told the plastics cards would take 3 months to arrive - If not in a full year, return to the INS office to renew stamping then.

BTW, here is what was *stamped*on the passport,

Stamping Queue

When you go for stamping, you can join the Appointment line. You need not join the general line.

:)

a friend of mine went in today 09/18
in @ 9am
out @ 10am

boy were they happy. but I would rather wait half a day in line with scores of other approvals than an year and half with a few people in the line on stamping day.

approvals have slowed down definitely.

good luck to all waiters...

Is there any difference between normal and appointment lines

Is there any difference between normal and appointment lines

Some people sleep all night in the "normal" line, the line can be soooooooooo long.

I-485 approval letter allows you go to the appointment line.
If there are people waiting it is a few.
