Arrived at 4:30 AM this morning..waited in non-appt line...at least 70+ ahead of me.

Security guard sent ALL AOS approval stamping cases to non-appt..no exceptions.

Only Santa clara county residents were allowed in line.

Went in around 8 AM.

Called to counter at 10:30 AM

Stamped and out by 10:45.

Documents taken:

Approval notice, Passport, ID, I-94, 2 photos, EAD and AP.

No questions asked just the relevant documents.

All dependents need to be present for stamping.

is it enough to take the courtesy copy or do u need to take the original approval notice from lawyers

YES.

question

did your copy mentioned anything that you need to go for stamping and related information?

Hi...,

We stood in line at 4am with close to 50 people ahead of us. Went in by 8:30am. Only 5 counter were opened out of which 1 was for AOS. later they opened 2 & then again closed 1. got stamped by 12:30pm. Rest of the folks were asked to come back after 1pm. On an average each person spends 8-9minutes at the counter.

Documents provided : Courtesy copy of approval, EAD, AP , H1 (7th year extension), photos

couple of things to remember,
-make sure that the I-551 stamp on the passport is very clear & readable
-your photos must be exactly according to the INS specs

Best of Luck.

Why did you provide EAD and AP ? Did they ask for it. I was not
asked to provide EADs, APs so did not bother to ask if they need
to have EADs and APs. Stamping was done fine. But it seems
the lady at the counter was newby because she was asking her colleagues
lot of questions. Also wait time of 6 to 8 months for actual green card
seems too much. Is there anything in INS world that happens in days and weeks
rather than months and years ? seems like INS is fascinated by
concept of Einstein's time dilation in relativity. All INS clocks are running
time dilated.

The officer who stamped my passport was being trained by a colleague.

He apologized for his inexperience.

I was not asked for EAD and APs...

Incidently it seems they (stamping officer) have not taken
the I-94 from my passport either.
