Guys,

I\'m really happy that you are finally starting to receive FP notices.

Ciba\'s home page contains a section on FP experiences, many of which
were done early, such as mine.

Is it advisable to go for early finger printing?

It depends on your situation.

a) Some people have raised the idea that getting early FP
   can raise an RFE.

b) On the other hand a few people have done the FP early and
   got their approval before the original scheduled FP date with
   no RFE.

My situation is that I have been laid off and I want my
green card ASAP so I went early.

If I had a stable job and no prospects of lay-offs, I would
wait till the scheduled date (which is often only a month
after the notice receipt) just in case a) is right.
Now I don\'t think a) is right, but who knows with the
INS.

Bongo, how many months more before you get complete your 6 months. Have you joined any other job using EAD or are you waiting for 6 months to get over.

Just completed 6 months. I\'ll join my new job on Jan 1st.
I will file a H1 transfer on the last day of my current job.
