san diego office

received fingerprint notice from San Diego office. initial filed at TSC, transfered to local office sevreal times due to job change. just transfered to San Diego in May, and my wife's case transfered to SD in October, and then received FP notice to be done tomorrow. looks like our cases are moving in SD. also got my AP from SD in one week last month.

ND: 04/2001 (NIW self file, TSC)
1st FP: 05/2002
tranfered to Chatlotte, NC office in 08/2002
transfered to Philadelphia, PA in 11/2002 (job change)
transfered to San Diego 05/2003 (job change)
2nd FP: 11/2003
2 EADs, 1 AP, wait for 3rd EAD (filed online in 09/2003, stupid, should go to local office to apply in person, then I may have it already)

Could you tell me
1. how long does it take transfer from one office to another office?
2. Do you requetsed the transfer or are they transfered ?

Because My case was also transfered from CSC to Dallas/TX
When I applied the I-485 I was in Texas and I used the TX address, later I have moved from Dallas/Texas to SanJose/California, I have filled the AR-11 and but not changed the I-485 Address. Last november we replied the RFE to CSC then later they transfered to Dallas.TX.
Now I 'm confuse whether Do I need to request the transfer from Dallas/TX to Sanjose/CA OR Just wait and see how long does it get move in Dallas/TX office.

Could you please share your experience?
